The comprehensive and accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) at Ohio State will help you develop into a food and nutrition expert. You’ll influence others at many levels and facilitate lifestyle changes and choose food for optimal health. Our comprehensive approach to food, nutrition and diet will help you become an expert, teaching people how to make healthful food choices to maintain healthy minds and bodies. The program is your first step to becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN).
Student Opportunities
A student group dedicated to learning more about the dietetic profession through meetings, community involvement and organizational unity related to dietetics and nutrition.
A community of nutrition students who explore the world of nutrition and dietetics through community outreach efforts, expert lectures, exposure to the most recent nutrition-related media productions, and other beneficial resources.
An annual judged research presentation opportunity for undergraduate students of all majors to share the impacts of their research findings.
Gives students the opportunity to help the surrounding community towards the goal of making food accessible to underprivileged neighborhoods and educate on issues including food inequity, accessibility and nutrition.

Multiple pathways to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Ohio State
The Commission on Dietetic Registration requirements to become a registered dietitian nutritionist include a minimum of a master’s degree to take the national registration exam beginning on January 1, 2024.
- Complete your BS degree with the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD)
- Complete the Master of Dietetics and Nutrition; or the Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Human Nutrition Dietetic Internship
- Pass the National Registration Exam
