Centers
The College of Education and Human Ecology Centers for Practice, Research and Policy (EHE Centers) is a collective comprised of five entrepreneurial hubs with longstanding roots: Center on Education and Training for Employment, Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy, Schoenbaum Family Center, Walter E. Dennis Learning Center and The Center for Digital Learning and Innovation. Together, these centers provide research and leadership across the lifespan of human learning – from cradle to college and career – and seek to translate that research in ways that inform practice and policy, and ultimately improve human potential.
Center on Education and Training for Employment (CETE) conducts and translates evidence-based practices and research into innovative solutions for educators, workers, and communities. The Center’s approach to translational research results in healthy urban and rural communities that support well-being and economic prosperity.
Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy (CCEC) engages multidisciplinary researchers dedicated to high-quality scholarship to improve children’s learning and development at home, at school, and in the community. The Center also engages policy leaders on issues of pressing importance related to early childhood.
Schoenbaum Family Center houses a network of community partners providing services and information on early childhood programming and family engagement. This includes the A. Sophie Rogers School for Early Learning, which services children from birth to school age, as well as the Early Head Start partnership.
Walter E. Dennis Learning Center provides academic learning services and support to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from all academic backgrounds that enables them to enter, excel in, and complete postsecondary education programs.
Our mission is to create transformative learning experiences with technologies that evoke creativity and innovation in the fields of education and human ecology.
