Pillars of the College
To advance our distinctive vision, we have developed a set of five pillars. These pillars are foundational to EHE - who we are and what we strive to be. By focusing on them, we will enrich the education of our students and accelerate the efforts of our faculty and staff. Our local, national and international communities will be transformed through our unique partnerships and experiences for our students.
Taking a whole family approach, we work with community partners to grow comprehensive, wraparound services that meet young families’ basic needs. We are defining new strategies to work across the lifespan, starting with our youngest children.
By forming unique partnerships with communities, both urban and rural, we can close education gaps and improve lives. Concurrently, we deepen our college students’ learning, energize our academic and research agendas and inform new policies.
To advance human health, well-being and economic vitality, our programs shape consumer experiences in hospitality and retail settings, build knowledge of human nutrition and the science of exercise and support human development and family dynamics.
With a multidisciplinary approach, we are developing more effective and inclusive models of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) education. We are preparing more underrepresented groups to fulfill the jobs of the future.
We believe that by engaging with people from different cultures and experiences, we gain new perspectives that enhance our global reach and local impact. We expand our cross-cultural competence by cultivating deeper scholarly and service partnerships at home and abroad.
