The educational objectives of the program emphasize clinical training toward licensure in Ohio. Please see our current student and graduate data here

Client Contact Hours

The program is designed so that students will obtain 500 hours of face to face client contact with part of those hours obtained in our on-campus training clinic and part of those hours obtained at a clinical placement in the surrounding community. The state of Ohio requires this number of client contact hours.

Supervision

The program is also designed to provide students with more than 100 hours of supervision provided by AAMFT-approved supervisors and candidates. This meets the requirements for state licensure.

Clinical Training Facilities

The Ohio State University Couple and Family Therapy Clinic is equipped with state of the art video equipment and one-way mirrors for live observation of student work. Students are expected to obtain at least 200 hours of client contact in the clinic with supervision. Supervision includes group and individual modalities, as well as live observation, video and case report.
