To receive licensure by completing the following program of study, students must already have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a current or expired teaching certification or license. All courses are offered for Undergraduate or Graduate credit except the Planned Field Experience.

Successful completion of the following:

  • Culminating Project (completed in ESSPED 8189)
  • OAE tests: 043 Special Education Content Exam, 090 Reading Exam 

Note: Completion of this program leads to eligibility for licensure in the state of Ohio. Candidates must also pass the OAE examinations, meet appropriate FBI and BCI requirements, and formally apply for the license. Students who completed a reading series for their initial license may petition to have these courses waived.
